How to Appreciate Art - By Gerda Pieterse

How to Appreciate Art

Gerda has been one of my favourite artists since I was a kid. She’s always there and always listening. I think that’s why her drawing is so good. She’s so generous with her submissions I can hardly keep up. Awesome.

Moonlight Sonata by Yann

Moonlight Sonata by Yann

I love this! It’s craftily made from cut papers. Thanks Yann.

Why Did I Let Him In? by Dave Barnes

Why did I let him in?
It was not the flowers.
Well, he has a way with me - maybe his lopsided grin.
But I think it is really his persuasion. He is uncannily persuasive.
He had his collar up round his ears for the rain.
He wore Elton John glasses for disguise.
He assured me implicitly that he had not been followed.
The CIA man let him go alone.
He said he came to say sorry.
His low voice was huskier than usual, and I fully believed him.
But when I thought again what he has done to the Lewinsky name,
Why Did I Let Him In?

I turned him out.

The Man of Your Dreams by Ingrid

The Man of Your Dreams

Nice and minimal and understated in a sea of white. I like it! Thanks Ingrid.

Through a Time Machine - by Gerda Pieterse

Through a Time Machine - by Gerda Pieterse

A view through very old glass. Very old glass fascinates me. When I was a child my father took me to the mill where van Rhijn lived, and the glass appeared to have run down, almost wanting to get back to its’ liquid form. Scientists say that that can’t happen, but who cares? The glass in Edinburgh Castle reminded me of that. Seeing a garden and people as if through a time machine” - Gerda Pieterse

Nielo Waits With Rose - by Nielo Wait

Neilo Waits With Rose

I have no idea why but this picture makes me think of someone who looks like a cheeky bastard with an unconformable spirit. I love it. Thanks Nielo.
